Historic timber frame, truss and ornate façade repairs

Trace Heritage and Restoration carried out a wide range of timber repairs at The White Lion in Stockport, including truss repair, joist and beam repair, external timber frame repair and ornate façade detailing.
The building required both structural and decorative timber repairs. Works included roof and internal structural members, external timber frame repairs, ornate jetty beam end replacement, dome repairs and detailed fascia and soffit matching.
The challenge was to repair multiple areas of the building while preserving its historic appearance and architectural detail.
Trace repaired trusses, joists and beams alongside the external timber frame façade. Ornate jetty beam ends were matched and replaced, while the dome and flag pole finials were repaired to restore key visual features.
Fascia and soffit repairs were also carried out using matching details to maintain the building’s original character.
The repair programme combined structural timber repair with detailed heritage joinery. This allowed Trace to address decay and damage across the building while retaining the distinctive external appearance.
Trace Heritage and Restoration carried out extensive timber roof structure repairs at Ashton Old Baths, including historic truss repair, splice and resin combination repairs, metal plate reinforcement and new timber construction.
