Bears head sandbach timber frame

Trace Heritage and Restoration completed specialist repairs to the historic external timber frame at The Bearshead in Sandbach. The project involved timber façade repair, wall panel reconstruction, ornate timber detailing and structural reinforcement.

Historic timber frame repair and external façade restoration

The challenge

The external façade required careful repair to timber frame elements, wall panels and associated brickwork. As with many historic timber buildings, the challenge was to restore structural integrity while retaining the visual character of the original elevation.

The works also involved ornate moulded timber details, which required careful matching to preserve the building’s historic appearance.
